Funding Opportunities

The DaNa Facility’s aim is to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Myanmar. 

 

To achieve this, the DaNa Facility works with civil society and non-governmental organisations (both domestic and international),
the private sector, the development partner community and the Myanmar government. 

 

As part of our work the Facility provides technical assistance to relevant organisations as well as the Myanmar Government
and has provided some grant funding to qualifying projects.

 

Funding opportunities

Current funding opportunities: Support for investing and inclusive business ecosystem development

Impact investing in Myanmar is growing, though from a very low base. The DaNa Facility, is seeking applications from specialist organisations for projects to develop the ecosystem for Inclusive Business and Impact Investing in Myanmar.

 

This grant window will support organisations who are seeking to incubate or accelerate Inclusive Business models within Myanmar. The grant window will focus on stimulating opportunities for enterprises in the following areas:  Inclusive Business, Fintech, AgTech, health and education. The Business Ecosystem Application Guidelines document states that applicants may submit questions or enquiries about the grant window or application procedures by email to info@danafacility.com.  Section 4.3 refers to a deadline of the 21st September 2018, while section 5.1 refers to a deadline of the 19th September 2018.

 

Please be informed that the deadline for submitting questions is the 21st September 2018 at 17:00 Yangon time.     

 

Previous grant funding windows:

We have previously run two grant funding windows, our Economic Empowerment Window and our Business Innovation Window.

Both of these grant windows are now closed.

 

Opportunities to partner with us

To qualify for support for direct grant  from the DaNa Facility an organisation must demonstrate that the work it wishes to do is designed to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth within Myanmar.

Our definition of inclusive economic growth is growth that:

 

• is equitably shared;

• is regionally balanced;

• narrows existing disparities in household incomes and livelihood opportunities;

• creates new jobs and economic opportunities; and

• brings people out of poverty, and then keeps them from sliding back into poverty.

 

Our definition of sustainable economic growth is growth that:

 

• is not harmful to the environment;

• is not harmful to communities and wider society;

• does not entail the uncontrolled exploitation of natural resources; and

• does not create or exacerbate tensions or conflicts.
